Questions
Why are we doing this? Why do we need it?
Our congregation is thriving and asking for more ways to discover and worship God. The issues before us have to do with space to conduct those ministries. We have inadequate education room for Sunday school, BLOC and music programs. We have extremely limited office space for our staff, and we have community requests for building use that we cannot meet because we do not have the space.
How big do we want to become?
As big as God wants us to be. Our church is in a growing part of Owatonna and we can be a neighborhood beacon. Expanding our space will only expand our ministry opportunities.
How will we pay for it?
Our Savior's is undertaking a capital stewardship campaign to raise the money to pay for the construction.
A capital stewardship campaign seeks pledged donations from members of the congregation.
How Can I Prepare to Participate?
Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer.
Read Scripture passages related to giving.
Proverbs 3:5-9 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart ?and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; ?fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops..."
Acts 20:32-35 "Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. 33I have not coveted anyone's silver or gold or clothing. 34You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. 35In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
Luke 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
